Hi Lorraine,
are you able to respond as above, please? LL’s have asked if you can provide the website detailing proposed energy blackouts by postcode? Thanks in advance (:).
There have been cases in the news about some suppliers switching to pay as you go, when some one simply missed one payment. Thus they are now on a higher tariff.
Sorry, i cant remember what forum i saw the link on. I followed it though and looked at the scheduling. I would search but i have no wifi atm and I’m trying to use my data sparingly so it lasts.
google the question about power cuts . Its a bit uncertain
Thks for letting us know, Lorraine. I’ll dig around online. KR’s, Sue
Although a Scottish Newspaper report, this piece relates to potential UK blackouts
Hi do you mind sharing the reason why you do not want smart meters in your home, is there a particular reason, thank you.
@Ron6 It’s in the thread above
@Ron6 Conspiracy theories about them using smart meters to cut off power this winter.
Tinfoil hat isn’t big enough
The facts:
There have been stories in the press about potential rolling power cuts over the winter if power stations can’t get enough gas to support peak demand. Absolutely nothing (as far as I can find and the OP can’t provide evidence) about them using smart meters to cut off individual properties.
National Grid are prepared to avoid power cuts asking by people to to reduce their usage when they think the grid will struggle to supply. This would be voluntary and users with smart meters would get paid according to how much less electricity they used in the advertised period. As far as I am aware, they have not had to have an active period yet.
So: Smart meters are good for your wallet!!
