Been renting this house 30 years & it was usually taken very quickly. Now it’s freshly renovated but on the market 9 weeks with no suitable applicants. Most on benefits with insufficient income to afford while stronger ones ask for viewing but don’t confirm - so far. Any comments? Anyone else having same experience? I expected the market to be better with so many LLs leaving after RRA & rumoured higher rents but it looks as though people simply can’t afford it. Seems the answer is to keep dropping the rent.
@Nigel35 photos all making each area shown look small, no photos showing how spacious the good sized (based on floor plan).rooms are, none showing the size of the bedrooms or the main living space.
Looking on rightmove there are 34 2beds (admittedly almost all flats) currently advertised within 1 mile of E16 for 1750 or less. Some with similar amounts of floor space

Need wider angle lens, rooms look pokey as don’t show much of it.
Also very dark. Staging it a bit can also help.
I’ve ran living room pic through AI to do a very basic facelift as an example.
Thanks David. Agree your comments about the photos - they could be better. I’ve already included the reception facelift photo from Mark10 - thanks to him. They are, though mostly the same photos used on previous successful letting so it still seems the market has worsened which is my point. You’re right there is competition from flats but it is a nice house with own parking & a decent patio/garden in a convenient location. Can’t argue with the market - it’s nearly always a question of price - rent already at £50 less than OpenRent valuation but I’ll keep dropping it & suppose I’ll eventually find someone. Appreciate your help.
Many thanks Mark. I’ve actually used your facelift photo - could you give a tip on how you did it? I don’t want to do the usual estate agent photo stretching trick but your impressive version is actually how it could look in the best lighting. Best regards.
