Hi everyone, I have a question, why same property have 2 different landlord? Today I have paid for the holding deposit with one property , but I found out a same property with different landlord still available for viewing , is this comment or unusual? This is our first time using openrent it’s so confusing. Hope someone can help us to answer the question. Many many thanks

Yes! Only for the holding deposit. But the landlord sent me the private email for the next step.
you can check on government land registry site who owns the property, for a few quid

Possible a different property in same block where same photos have been re-used but if its the same property that would be both very suspicious and illegal - once the holding deposit has been received it’s illegal to keep marketing it. That’s why OR hides listings once the holding deposit received. LL maybe trying to get round it and keep advertising/showing to others which is exactly what they arent allowed to do.
Report the 2nd listing to Openrent explaining it is the same property you have put a holding deposit on
Dont hand over any other money or sign a contract till you have proof the LL is the owner.

Given the suspicious behaviour of the LL you may be best asking OR to refund your holding deposit. Dont withdraw the application yourself or LL entitled to keep the holding deposit.
