Im a disabled Ex RAF Police dog handler with PTSD and Disassociation disorder, currently living in Warwickshire. I am being evicted on a section 21 and am finding it impossible to find a property to live in. Why because I have 8 registered therapy german sheperds. Yes they are well trained, no they dont bark, unless theres a knock at the door.
Im not looking for a perfect house, my requirements, 1 room I can live in, heat etc, I room for one of my dogs who has to be isolated due to fighting with another of my dogs. A kitchen, hopefully a garage, a large garden, preferably rural. And Im not bothered if it requires a lot of work. Im up to doing that. I have £1500 of porcelain ceramic floor tiles to put down.
I know im asking the impossible. But without being nasty or saying get rid of my dogs as this won’t happen, please could I get some advice. Or if you know someone with a large country field I can put tents up in.
I know its impossible, but that’s what I have and what keeps me alive. 10 years of armed service, swearing to give my life for millions of people I’d never met only to be medically discharged because if a training accident. To then lose my house, my relationship, to find that eight dogs gives me the will to carry on. Council won’t help, private landlords won’t help, cant afford to buy a house on benefits and meagre pension. All I get is we cant help and thank you for your service.
Julie Ford has an extensive knowledge of charities funding people like yourselves. Her speciality is helping tenants settle rent arrears.
I cannot remember the company name . But if you google her name and rent arrears you can find a way of contacting her. You are ex military and she has a book ( literally ) of charities that help people like yourself.
You could reach out to her through social media etc for advice as you situation is unique but you will have access to charitable funds because of service .
I’ve never missed a rent payment, never been in arrears, and I dont have social media, I closed them all a few years ago but ill search her via Google, thank you.
Ok so theres no english, maybe ex force landlord who would want to buy a £200,000 bungalow in Warwick that the tenant is happy to do all the repairs, hasnt missed a rent payment in 5 yrs. Is being evicted in 19 days with nowhere to live, with his registered therapy dogs.
No but i can ask. The dogs have been living here since they were born, are registered as therapy/companion dogs, and it just shows how much compassion and empathy still exists in this country towards veterans. Its all lip service.
Everyone loves veterans, but to find a landlord who loves 8 dogs in their property is a very ,very long shot. It will not be you who is the problem, it will be 8 dogs. You cannot expect all to have your view of them . My daughter has 2 large G/S so I know a little about them.
I signed a piece of paper in 1992 promising to defend my queen and country, therefore promising to give my life for my country if needed. Instead i gave my physical and mental health. I have had or trained or worked with gsd’s for 59 years, and spend 24hrs a day with them, so i know and love my dogs better than any human, they are my life.
I have £1500 of porcelain ceramic floor tile waiting to be put down, wallpaper, paint, an order for carpet on hold, the repairs done by my landlords son were very sub par, and i have been refused permission to do anything.
So when the baliffs arrive on Nov 26th i have decided to unalive myself for something i do believe in because my country, my county and its people can say the right thing but in truth if it doesnt fill their pockets they couldnt care less.
I think even councils have a limit on the number of pets they permit. I notice that you previously posted about having 4 dogs….now you have 8…..if you find somewhere suitable, which I hope you can, will you acquire more?
So you love your dogs so much ,you are going to unalive yourself , thus leaving them possibly to be put down.? That is hard to fathom ,when you say they are your life
The dogs are all female gsd’s, 2 mums and 6 of their pups. Im an ex RAP Police dogs handler, disabled out if the RAF due to training accident. Which then caused me to be diagnosed with PTSD. They are well trained, and obedient.
Section 21, no fault eviction. No reason given. But i have heard 4 different reasons as to why including the want more rent, yet ive offered 3 times and they havent put my rent up in 3 years.
