I am in the advanced stages of renting a property advertised by Foxtons in London. The AST would be between myself and a limited company.
What is slightly concerning is the limited company address is the actuaI address of the property I am about to rent. I haven’t signed the AST yet! Should I be concerned or this common practise?
not common at all If they get into difficulty you may get the flack
Firstly
Foxtons are one of the most disreputable estate agents in London , if not the most!
Fact the tenant Fees Act , that impacted all of us as landlords, was introduced because of their unscrupulous methods
Secondly
A company should be registered to a real address not a rental ( that would be considered someone else’s home ) or their accountant
We’ve had random people use our addresses to register a company . It’s a litigious nightmare to deregister and stop mail coming to the houses
I would walk away
You are the second person to post about this
It has red flag stamped all over it
