Ad-hoc demand to tenant via OpenRent portal

Hello all,

Is there a way to raise an ad-hoc demand for charges via the OpenRent portal to my tenant, OpenRent collect the funds and pay funds into my bank account like they would with a normal monthly rental demand?

Hi @Jimbob -

Within our rent collection service you can “Add a charge”. This is described here:

This effectively adds an item to the rent collection statement describing the charge and deducts it from the balance. It’s not correct to use this to “demand money” from a tenant over a dispute, for example. But where there has been an error made, or the tenant has paid non-rent money via Rent Collection already, this helps keep the balance correct.

Similarly, if you wanted to make a deduction, the “Add a Rent Payment” option is also described above.

I’m looking to raise an additional invoice to the tenants for some charges relating to utilities, they in effect owe me funds.

If I add a charge does this allow me to collect my money rent plus the payment of utilities I’ve made on their behalf?
