How do I add these charges using the open rent portal in addition to the usual rent?

What charges do you intend to add?
Be very careful you are compliant with the Tenant Fees Act, and if allowed charges are to be made to a tenant, collect these outside of Openrent.

It sounds like you want to “Add a Charge”.
As Karl11 says, be careful about charging tenants prohibited fees as this is illegal and would invalidate any s21 you may later serve.
Normally a landlord would be expected to pay for any works done on the property.
Does your contract have a clause permitting this?
50 pounds for clearance and maintenance of the garden. Garden maintenance is tenants responsibility and we have mutually agreed the charge. The total cost is more and I am paying the balance. TA does not specifically say I can make a charge but has the usual clauses about outside and gardens being tenant responsibility.
I have the additional issue of my property being in a selective licence area and having additional responsibilities around that which means I can’t have the garden being overgrown and a mess.
Ok, well the charge you describe sounds like compensation for a loss rather than a fee, but make sure you retain all the evidence of responsibility and agreement.
