Anyone used the Rent Guarantee service provided by OpenRent?

Curious if anyone has used the rent guarantee insurance service provided by OpenRent. It costs a fairly hefty £300 and was wondering if it’s value for money. Now, I absolutely get the ‘peace of mind’ aspect that it provides but has anyone actually used it? How quickly did Openrent cough up the rent when a tenant failed to pay? How easy was the process for you as a landlord to recover unpaid rent? And what of the claims that OpenRent also provide financial and legal assistance should you have to evict a tenant? How easy was the process? How effective were OpenRent? Would you recommend this service?

Also, I know OpenRent patrol these messages boards, so not really interested in hearing from an OpenRent representative extolling the virtues of RGI, interested in actual people who have used the service.

@Max6 I have landlord insurance from Alan Boswell gp (who are which recommended) and their rent gtee insurance was cheaper than OR so there was no obvious reason to use OR. (They have legal protection and rent gtee and excess protection all separately)

You can look on sites like compare the market. Check the T&c and excesses. All insurance companies will try every clause possible to avoid paying claims I expect OR are no different. Evictions (and claims) are relatively rare but I suspect OR (like other services like epcs etc) provide via an insurance co so how good they are at paying up when needed will all depend on the insurer not OR.

Good luck
