Has anyone successfully used check-out service that basically compares the inventory at check-out with check-in? I paid for check-out service and upon asking Open Rent how do I get the clerk to compare the inventory at check-out with the inventory at check-in, I was advised to contact the supplier directly.
Upon asking the supplier about the same, they just cancelled their check-out service citing lack of availability, even though they had confirmed their availability earlier
Consider doing it yourself using a DIY inventory platform. You shouldn’t have to provide as many photos as the check in. Using your phone Just take pictures of the areas that are damaged and from the same angle as the check in photo so it can easily be compared. Then zoom in on the damage itself placing a ruler or general object next to the damage so adjudicator can easily gauge size. Add a few words describing the damage. Also the deposit companies will give further guidance on how to evidence your claim.
have you actually done a pre-check out inspection and, if so, are there actually any issues which will necessitate deposit deductions? If not, it’s moot who does it as there’s no point. If there are issues, a simple discussion with the T will indicate whether they’re amenable to the deduction. If not, and you feel you have a valid reason for the deduction, do it properly.
IOW, there’s no point in going to all the bother unless you know you’re going to make a deduction in the first place.
