By what time-frame the landlord must release the deposit to tenant? If there are major damages and release amount is expected to be minimal, does the same time limit still hold? Costing out the damages, settling unpaid council tax etc takes time after all.
There isnt a fixed time limit, but you do have to justify any delays. Ten days is advised.
