Electric charging point

Just wondering LL’s if a TT got a new vehicle that was electric how many LLs would
1 allow a home charger to be installed
2 pay for the said charger to be installed as it is a selling point for future
3 contribute towards a charging point

Would love to hear the opinions of landlords

Not havibg an issues or anythi g just curious

I would consider with a long term tenant but generally I don’t think so as it’s something else to be responsible for.

But if a new tenant bought an EV I can’t imagine saying no if they wanted to pay to have it fitted.

As EV becomes more popular it would make more sense just to fit them.

LLs of more up market properties more likely to I imagine.

Just to add, no way I’m going EV, ever…I’ll walk!

Completely agree with the not going EV how would you deal with it if a tenant paid for the charge point then 12 month later was leaving is it their loss as they have chosen to leave

I would be ok with that.

But a tenant paying if they are on a periodic tenancy would be risky for them. Would ideally need combining with a fixed term of 12 months, but many landlords reluctant to give.

The ev charger has to stay with property!Classed as fixed wiring
And it could help rent easier but also needs a certificate.
I am pretty sure and I will speak to my cousin who’s a spark that a ev charger needs testing once a year , so could come with costs
