My EICR has expired. Need to get a new one done. Have paid Open Rent over a week ago and first engineer had to cancel. Have emailed Open Rent numerous times. How do I find out if the job is back in the system ? Open Rent won’t speak to me…just send unhelpful links. All the conversation traffic is going to the engineer that cancelled.
Have a tenant waiting and cannot get a response ? Any suggestions please ?
Personally would find my own electrician.

Try checkatrade.com, tell them what you want, and read the reviews of the person who replies before you go ahead
Usually works for me if I’m stuck and my usual people can’t do it
In Derbyshire, we have Derbyshire County Council’s trusted trader register (Trusted Trader - Derbyshire County Council). It is run by Trading Standards.
I tend to use that if I need a new tradesperson because they do have references and some vetting. And they would get removed if they had too much poor feedback.
Might be worth checking whether your local council runs a similar scheme.
Checkatrade, Trust A Trader etc are pretty much pay and you are listed. Never quite sure how genuine the reviews are either!
The point is that not every electrician can do EICR checks. They have to be specifically qualified. The electricalcompetentperson website only lists people qualified to do the work.
Doesn’t mean they aren’t going to try to rip you off though. Probably best to do a combination of the two.
