Ending an AST within the term of the contract during COVID

I want to end an AST within the 6 months of the contract (as created by OpenRent as part of their tenancy creation service) but I am unsure of the notice period required because of current restriction as a result of new COVID tenancy legislation.

Can I still end the tenancy within the terms of a standard AST (after 4 months but with a minimum of 2 months notice for the tenant) or do I need to give the tenant 6 months notice to comply with COVID eviction regulations?
