We are facing a few issues with one of our guarantor, including him not wanting to add dis ID in his reference (we have tried to explain to him the reason for Proof of ID but he refuses to do so). When doing the application is it necessary to add the ID or is his identity checked in some other way? If not we would have to find another guarantor of course.
We have found Company guarantors online but as I understand OpenRent does not allow for thèse in their referencing?
If he doesn’t want to do it, reject them as a guarantor, and if as a result the tenant is not strong enough, reject them too. My theory, is if they are not playing ball now, will they in future, when things go wrong.
Obviously, a company guarantor company would not need to be referenced. I beleive if you use on of these, you will sign a normal tenancy with the tenant, and then sign a separate guarantor agreement with the insuring company. They will no doubt be able to advise. I’ve never actually used one.
Thank you Karl. We are going to reject him as this is going nowhere indeed. We have looked into guarantors company but I am slightly usure how that would work with OpenRent so I have asked on both sides.
Appreciate your answer as it clarifies what I feared but must be done.
