This is the first time I am renting my flat and I have been approached by an individual on the platform who would like to rent my flat at the Corporate Level. I asked him to go through referencing anyway but I have been told that this is not possible on Open Rent as it is the company that is renting and not an individual. Has anyone else here had to experience on corporate rental. How can it be managed safely?

I would strongly advise you not to do this. Watch the David Smith video on company lets or google ‘rent to rent scam’ for info on what can go wrong.

I suggest you that please do your own search and not
just rely on referencing company Rentgaurd or any other company.
Recently I have noticed that referencing company did not do their reference even with employment. Then referencing company have not been helpful. When there issues and when I checked the company is dormant and registered address is virtual office.

If the registered company is virtual office where so many companies are registered then please do not believe on anything if have spoken to someone on that number.

I would ask for 3months payslip but also sometimes this could be fake as last year friend of mine’s tenant got tenant through estate agent and fake employment reference.
All these issues are smaller companies as professional
people registered companies under their name and just before 2-3yrs they dissolve the company and start another one. -
I am not sure if there is any way we can check with HMRC
directly or not but if we could using national insurance number or not.
It would be good be could do it using the same system
of right to rent check using share code on government website

If the reference is from the bigger reputable companies and then risks would be lower

Check last 4-5yrs previous address especially if you
cannot find details on 192.com on electrol register
or ask proof of the previous full utility and council
tax paid bills under their under their name.
Please note some people do fill false information on
reference check forms in order get rental property and
that is fraud and somehow landlords get trapped and
affected in financial loss
