Help getting a 2 bedroom

The house I live for the past 8years it’s going for sale. My landlord and landlady decided to retire and come of the property market unfortunately.

I was given a Section 21 which ends 10 October, I still did not find anywhere cause of the higher rents, I need a 2bedroom for me and my son.

I am a good tenant and they like me because of it. I look after and care about their property like it’s my own.

I have good references and we have a good relationship with them, based on mutual respect. I never had rent in arrears, my rent it’s up to date.

I can prove it and also my landlord can prove it.

I am at risk of being homeless with a child who is in Y10 preparing for GCSCs and as a mother this is concerning me a lot, causing me stress, and I am already depressed as it’s the 1st time in this situation. I always rented private.

The Council already told my landlord that he needs to file possession order.

With a child in a delicate stage of his academic journey, us having to go through Court eviction could bring more stress.

I need to get a 2 bedroom house for us in Croydon - London.

Can you please help?

I’m so sorry you face this challenge. If only the Government stopped meddling, your Landlords might not be fleeing the market like so many other Landlords.

I don’t have any houses in your area so can’t help, but even if I did, your message suggest the rent would probably be too high, and sadly prices are increasing as Landlords leave the market.

I hope you find a Landlord who is willing to let you have their house, at a price you can afford, but as this might not happen, please consult with the likes of Shelter etc and get as much advice you can.
