My income is £1452pm I’m currently paying £830 pm been here 16 yrs had a pet dogs for 15 of those yrs since my child moved out the property is too big and LL says property not suitable for dogs and going to give me my notice. My rent is due to go again. I can’t get a viewing on a property with a letting agent because they say I can only afford £400pm. I have a dog and low income and finding it impossible to find anywhere live.
Speak to the Council housing department.
I have they can’t help me until I get my official notice.
I think you may just have to wait for that.

I do sympathise. Its a tough time to rent at the moment. Unfortunately the government have legislated such that many Landlords are leaving the market, increasing demand for the limited supply of properties, and pushing up prices. This is likely to get worse if other parties get into power.

Thank you. I just don’t know what to do anymore I know it’s not just me in this situation. Yes it would be easier just to re home my dog but I have a few mental health issues and my dog keeps me alive and still so many places so no to benefits. I have my own deposit and a guarantor never missed a rent payment not in any debt. But all people see it dog and benefits.
