How to stop R2R, Management companies from wasting your time?

hi, I am landlord. Recently put up my ad and recently seem to get a lot of R2R, Management people, a owner wanting to put employees in my house or people wanting to use my house to rent out. Some are not honest and change there intentions once in person. Feel like there wasting my time. Most of them wont take no for a answer until I repeated tell them no a lot of times. One put a holding deposit without my permission.

Is there any thing i can to stop these people from wasting my time. I am not sure what they will do to my house and don’t want the hassle of getting rid of them once in. I listed them on my ad not to reply. Do you guys get these people inquiring and answer your ads?

Hi Wai lun, I’m sorry you’ve had this — we really don’t want this on OpenRent and we silence these accounts as quickly as we can.

The best thing you can do is click the ‘report’ button that is at the bottom of the message thread on the OpenRent messenger. This will alert our team to the R2R account and we can deal with it.

I’d be very interested to hear if you have any feedback on how you initially reacted to these messages. Ideally every landlord who got such a message would see the report button and intuitively click it to report the spammy activity. If there’s anything we can change to make this better, it would be great to know!
