If it looks too good to be true, it usually is

I was looking at a property for rent on Facebook marketplace.
They asked me to send them a photo of my passport or driving licence as proof of identification along with my telephone number . They said they were using OpenRent and would pass my details on to them. I thought the email wording was a bit suspicious so looked up OpenRent and the property I had previously seen on marketplace was not listed currently. Is this legitimate? Can anyone help please?
