It seems unlikely they will be in “excellent” condition after a few years of wear and tear (and the existence of chips and scrapes does kind of invalidate that description)

“Good” or “Fair” is probably more appropriate.

From what I have seen of the DPS tutorials on claims against deposits, high quality photos showing specific condition and/or defects are far more valuable than the words in an inventory report. As noted above, meaning of ‘excellent’, ‘very good’ and ‘fair’ are quite subjective.
