I am due to rent out my property via open rent in the next few months and was seeking advice and experiences of doing inventory checks myself. Has anyone done this themselves and if so what is the best way to process?
I have developed a template to record whats in the property and the current condition. Do people just leave this with the tenant and get them to post it back once signed, or go through it with them?
Document as much detail as you can,good quality printed photos are useful ,go through this with your tenants and get them signed as soon as possible (before key hand over)
It’s worth spending time on this as it will help you at the end of a tenancy if any disputes arise.
