I heard that in the kings speech that section 21 notice are banned with immediate effect. Is that correct? I paid a solicitor yesterday to draw up a letter for me

Labour has indeed announced plans to abolish Section 21 “immediately,” but this is more about emphasising their intention rather than giving a specific timeframe.
Just to give you an idea, after being introduced in parliament, the Renters (Reform) Bill took a year to reach the House of Lords, undergoing significant revisions in the process.
