Lease extension

I am one of 5 directors of a residential management company (made up of 5 individual flats). I am also the Company secretary dealing with Companies House, admin etc.

One of the leaseholders/flat owner is in the process of renewing his lease extension and asked me in my capacity of Director to sign the lease extension contract.

In 20 years I have been doing this job I never recall to be asked to sign this document. Do I have to sign it?

FYI - the original lease includes 3 parties: the lessor/freeholder, the RMC and the lessee/flat leaseholder.

Thanks to anyone who can shed some light into this,

Simonetta
