Misrepresentation

Hi openrent, can you let me know how a landlord can mislead and misrepresent a property advertised on the site?

I am currently awaiting my monies back £5665.00 from your company… due to this very fact. I will if not received today sublet the property to a travelling family

Hi John,

We always advise that you view a property before you continue with the Rent Now process, so you can ensure it suits your needs and is as described. If you then have concerns about a specific listing and let us know the details, we will always look into this to ensure the listings on our site are accurate.

Now that a private tenancy agreement has been signed between you and your landlord, and since OpenRent are not legally involved, we are unfortunately not able to intervene in the tenancy itself.

We cannot withhold rent without causing you to be in breach of your tenancy agreement. You are required to pay rent just as the landlord is required to make repairs in the property.

We advise that you reach out to the landlord to ensure that they are aware of the issues and you can seek advice on your rights as a tenant from Shelter or the Citizens’ Advice Bureau:

Citizens’ Advice Bureau: https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/about-us/contact-us/

John 48 please let us have your name and a picture so we can make sure we dont let to you. As a safeguard to yourself of course(sublet to a travelling family)?

What the heck is going on here…
