It’s a requirement for mailing list emails to have an unsubscribe link. This falls under GDPR requirements.

I did not know that. I just spam it all and they still come back. I will try that when the next lot come in… Its what I dislike about the net. I get it from cruises , the telegraph., auction houses and so on. They are shooting themselves in the foot with me ,because when pestered I make a mental note never to deal with them.

It’s better since GDPR rules have come in. Personal data is sold and then you get spammed either calls, emails or snail mail.

Businesses are allowed to be contacted once by cold callers even if the business is signed up to TPS (telephone preference service). They must not contact you a second time if you request to be removed. The service they are selling must be “relevant” to your business. They are still a pain in the arse.

Colin. As a last resort, you can always use a disposable email address service… I use Spamex, which gives me access to a thousand DEA’s . This means that if I start receiving spam from someone, I can just disable the address As an extra safeguard I also use 6 browsers, making it far more difficult for me to be tracked when surfing. As a result, I have days when I receive hardly any emails at all. Lovely.

eric13 You are a lot more computor savvy than me, I have2 email addresses one personal, one business Which is why I never bank online ,never use a credit card and have never used a cash machine. (rather proud of the last one)

I find cash just slows me down. The few places that only take cash means I have to make a special journey just to get cash out to pay them…when I used more cash I would end up with hundreds of pounds of coins in a jar which costs 10% just to transfer back into notes, either that or waste time bagging them and paying into bank. Now I only carry my phone, no cards, as I use phone to pay. (Card backups left in car but never needed em).

Probably different for people who get paid in cash.

@eric13 iPhone now has an optional automatic feature which uses a junk email address instead of your own on forms. Can disable them as needed.

DuckDuckGo is a good browser for anonymous browsing (stupid name I know!)

I run a cash only business and the builders all know that i do not do internet or cards . They get a receipt which keeps them happy. Post office now takes the cash for my bank . Some rentals pay by direct debit. The one business that I tried to buy from and only took cards did not get my business and I just bought elsewhere. You are right about all the change piling up . I give it to the grandkids

i think cash is going to be around for sometime yet. I think its daft that some dont take cash still. I must admit i was really anti card for a long time, what changed was the customers i dealt with all wanted to pay via card so kind of forced my hand. Didnt think of post office taking cash…I like your way of getting rid of coins! (i dont have that option, yet!)

Cheers, Mark and Colin. I use Duckduckgo browser already, and have done for some time, now. Certainly does the job. I also have a separate debit card with which I make all my online purchases. I only keep a few quid in the account and top it up as required. So far this year, I have had 2 attempts to take unauthorised payments, both thwarted by bank security. It’s a dangerous old world!

Hi Colin
I can understand. Some of my contractors are just like
You and prefer cash business. Also just some
prefer cash and those people have better control over
their spending too.
I do so much online but still sometimes I feel that the technology more advanced and sometimes I am
still behind and don’t know so much.

@Richard47

So you are suggesting that the rates set by UC are “fair”? In all aspects of life supply and demand determines the value. Why should PRS be any different?

What services offered by EA are pointless?

What about landlords with mortgages, should they charge more?

Should properties finished to a very high standard cost more?

UC default position is that it’s only paid to LL if tenants falls behind. Even then the tenant can stop this!!

Ll with poor properties tend to let to UC tenants as they generally arnt looked after.

Your argument simply cannot work.

Hi Everyone
To update that my petition has 344 signatures on

Also I know some people who are supporting somehow cannot
sign on the website.
I would like to thank you all for your support.

Also I wrote to the Parliament House and I had following reply
suggesting that I may wish to consider sharing
similar petition on UK Parliament website.

"Dear Prafula,

Thank you for your email regarding the petition you have started on change.org.

You may wish to consider staring a similar petition on the UK Parliament website once business has resumed after the funeral of her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Details of how to do so are available at How petitions work (parliament.uk)…"

So I would start in a week time.

I will try my best to make to tackle the issues as
I have supports from both good professional landlords and tenants.

Thank you.

We got 373 signatures and some other supports who find it hard online.

As this petition is to help and resolve issues for both
tenants and landlords and tackle rouge tenants.

I hope so as my good tenants have signed to as they
have seen what I have been through and other a few rouge
tenants have done in the development to some other
landlords and estate agents too.

Where are I rent my flats there are about 70% of the properties
rented. It’s a private gated community and like
a small village and people do help each other.

Managed to sign this time round. Good idea, but it doesn’t have as much support as I would have expected from the LL community.

Let’s hope that both good landlords and tenants supports
as affects both. Also my good tenants present and
some others who lived in my properties have signed too.
They have seen what I have been through and some other landlords have suffered too and rouge tenants have caused the problems with antisocial behaviour to the neighbours.
