New Landlord Advice Needed

Hello as someone who is new to OpenRent and indeed to being a landlord it would be a good idea to have a few “sticky” threads on here for new landlords. Currently, it is a bit like finding a needle in a haystack. I would like to know legally what are my responsibilities as a landlord particularly in regards to tenant rights.

Would people recommend joining Join the National Residential Landlords Association | NRLA?
Do seasoned landlords recommend rent insurance or paying for some kind of legal advice like Which? legal?

Nrla give advice free (so far) on the phone. Lanlord /tenant .be prepared for a shock!

I would recommend joining the NRLA for the free documents, advice and representation, although these things are not always perfect.

I have never bothered with rent guarantee insurance as I have not confidence that they will pay out in any normal circumstances.
