Hi, my son is about to sign a new tenancy agreement. With regards to cleaning it states:
1.15 CLEANING
The Tenant will:
Keep the exterior of the premises clean, including drains, gutters, pipes to the Premises clear
and chimneys (if any) swept. Garden/patio areas are to be kept in a clean and tidy state of repair and free from weeds.
My issue is he is renting a second floor flat with a further flat above. Surely this is the landlords responsibilty as it is exterior. There is no garden or patio area just a balcony so should this be removed from the agreement.? It already states elsewhere he cant dig, sit, eat on the amenity areas.
I did ask when we viewed if there were any other maintenance costs he said just rent.
Would anyone have an idea as i cant find anything specific to flats
Thank you
He could ask the landlord to clarify or cross out that section.
