Apologies. I was just pointing out that the media failed to report that the government was bringing in a new law, because the old one was ignored. In fact, nothing in law will change with regard to DSS.

Thats not strictly true. Its not unlawful to discriminate against an individual tenant on benefits if you have a good reason to do so, such as affordability. What you cant do is have a blanket ban on benefits tenants. This is unlikeky to change with the new legislation in my view.
I would like to add that the mortgage lenders and insurance providers are the ones that discriminate. They charge higher interest rates/insurance premiums for tenants on benefits/asylum seekers so it often appears that it is the landlord that is discriminating but they are forced to by the mortgage providers and insurance companies.
