Only lived with family but landlord references wanted?

I’m a 28 year old female on disability benefits (both PIP and Universal Credit) looking for a place to rent, however I notice a lot of landlords asking for previous references and proof of income.

I’ve only ever lived with family members just directly paying them when my money came in. My dad has agreed he would act as a guarantor for me also.

What would you suggest I do in this situation? Any sort of documents you’d want to see from me as a prospective landlord to help my case at all? I’d like to gather as much supporting evidence as possible to try and secure somewhere.

Many thanks.

Just explain, having lived with parents you cannot have any landlord references The guarrantor will be a big help.

Hi Bekki,
A home owner guarantor along with referencing should be enough.
If you’ve got a good credit check that would help.
Good luck.
