I’m looking for a resource that I can point my tenants to that outlines the options for continuing a tenancy - i.e. do nothing and move onto a periodic tenancy or signing a new contract.
I can give them the information myself however it would be good to be able to link them to somewhere that has it written in a way aimed at tenants. My tenant are from overseas so aren’t familiar with some of the terminology.
Youve already given it to them. Its called the How to Rent booklet published by the Government. If they need more then refer them to the Shelter website. You might want to highlight the fact that they would not be able to give notice under a fixed term tenancy if their circumstances change.
Well, hopefully she’s already given it to them. If not then it would be good to get the latest edition in their hands as soon as possible and have them sign to say they’ve received it.
There’s a contradition there though. Signing a new contract would be unnecessary if you want to continue a tenancy. Perhaps that’s not what you meant to say…
