Poor Customer Service for Landlords

I do not like this company nor the fact that you are uncontactable by phone. Please remove my listing immediately. I do expect written confirmation of this action.

You can remove your own listing if you think that’ll be quicker.

How kind of you to reply so quickly, thank you. Can you tell me how? I’m not great with tech!

Why dont you like openrent?

Hello Mark, thanks for replying. I just cannot get hold of them on the telephone and they send odd notifications at all hours offering me single male tenants which I definitely stipulated is not acceptable. Why do you ask?

ps. Do you know how I can remove my listing at all? I admit to being very poor with tech and I cannot see an option to delete my listing.

Just curious as to what problems you are having.

Openrent is mostly a self management
tool. It’s not a conventional letting agent. If you email them they will respond, usually quite quickly if during office hours.

You will receive all enquiries from all potential tenants. They wont filter out single males, you can be done for gender discrimination if you stipulate this anyway as it’s illegal.

You can setup an auto responder so that it automatically emails the person with a list of questions or criteria.

I am also pretty sure you can turn on an option to not be notified at unsociable hours somewhere.

But if you’re not tech savvy or not wanting to read guides on their website then maybe it’s not right for you.

Log in and go to Manage > Listings
Then, on the listing you want to remove, find the button on the right which says “Manage”. Click on this and then Remove.

Turn your phone off at unsociable hours . I turn mine off at night. Single males reply? Simply say by message > " sorry I cannot help you". then reject or delete . Openrent is a good idea, but they are not here to remove unwanted tenants. Not get thru by phone? Many firms like that today. I try to choose suppliers who are easy to contact and speak to a human

You need to be very careful here. Anyone offering a service to the general public needs to uphold equalities legislation and declaring all single male tenants unsuitable could be a criminal act as well as a civil wrong.
