I am new in the UK. I just moved into my apartment. On moving in, I realized the postcode on my contract agreement is different from the postcode on Royal Mail and the council’s address finder. The previous tenant’s mails that I found inside the apartment also shows a postcode that aligns with the address finders. My neighbour also confirmed it. I have since tried to let the agent know the postcode on the contract and on my receipts are wrong, but they keep insisting that, that is the postcode they got from the landlord.
What should I do? As I need to change my address with my bank and my employer, mobile network provider, and so on.
Also, I am yet to hear from the council as per council tax although I have emailed them. Do I need to hear from them before I communicate a change of address to my bank, my employer, etc.?
