I have just had an estate agent asking for proof that I paid last months rent which was January 2023. At the time I got my deposit back, and bought a house. I no longer have same bank account. So I am sure I did, but can’t check? Any advice please
Bank statements. Cheque stubs. card statement?
Go to the bank where. You had the account and ask for a statement
I would have to find a Barclays that is still open first!! How long cab they recoup the money if they missed it? seems a bit out of the blue!
I use Barclays . I paid my Council tax in one shout , put my address on the back and council tax number on the back and sent it off. 6 months later the council said I had not paid. . I went to bank they gave me a picture of the front and the back of the cheque to show I had all correct . Sent it to council. They had credited the wrong account . All good . Barclays 10 out of 10
We have one on our high street
It’s not that bad
Email them call them
So am guessing that itbwas also your last payment? (At the time i bought a house and got my deposit back)
That coupled with the excuse that younwould have to find a bank open (not really there is internet or phone) suggests that maybe you didnt pay and are looking fir get out clauses or info from landlords as to how u can avoid this (eg its their fault they should know and well if u cant orove ut its upto them to say you didnt) thays just how your post comes across
Six years is the amount of time they have to recover
I bought my 900,000 house in cash- so I’m not short of money. If I owe the money, I will happily pay it. They missed a payment before, which I had paid so they are very disorganised. I have a new baby and going back to work. I am very busy- and it seems odd they are asking this late. So, you clearly misread my post.
You should also note, it was through an estate agent in St Albans, who also didn’t give me back my £2500 deposit for 2 months after I left!!!
