Recommendation and dis-recommendation for boilers

Hi Everyone,

I need to change the boiler because it is playing up. It is an old MAIN 24. When working, it was good enough for the house (heating and hot water).
A couple of plumbers suggested that Valient are not as good as they were + bad customer service.
They spoke about these - Ideal logic 24 or 30 kw 7 years warranty, Main Eco Compact 25kW 5 year warranty and Baxi 825 combi, 10 years warranty.
Does anyone use them and have an opinion?
Thanks,
Tali

i have all 3 of those makes fitted and all seem ok

I have a family member who been a gas engineer for 30 years. His favourite boiler is now Ideal.

Glow Worm is a cheap version of Vaillant (and costs much less). Their warranties and response times are very good, same engineers service both.

Could you download a pdf version and print it out? Would this satisfy?

It seems an unreasonable demand to have to keep manual to validate warranty.

I’ve heard that Ideal are well designed in that they allow for easier servicing due to better spacing and more logical positioning of components.

But in the past month I’ve spoken with 3 gas engineers who all have their favourites and slate the other brand mentioned.

Deleted my comments, as I may have been getting Valliant & Ideal mixed up. Confused.com. Not sure at this time, so deleted just in case.

Ah. Curious now as to what brand it is!

I’ve use Baxi eco 830 with 10 year warranty
A few months ago a Baxi engineer said back platinum was the best on the market the new model isn’t acomparison
Ive had no problem with either
I’ve fitted five of the eco 830 and they ve been fine
I have two platinums and they are fine too
Go with a 10 year warranty and they tend to break towards the 10 years
Don’t waste money on Wocester they are not what they were
After service with Baxi under warranty is excellent
They have changed parts because gas engineer said they would be a problem as they change materials
