Referencing a Couple?

I have a couple who want to rent and have paid the holding deposit.

The wife has made the enquiry but is a housewife with the husband as the main breadwinner.

The wife has failed referencing as she does not earn.

How can I reference them as a couple? I only have the option to add the husband and order a separate reference for him or add him as guarantor.

Adding him as guarantor might solve the problem but really I need the tenancy in both names and you cannot have a guarantor who is also a tenant.

Help!?

Does the husband’s affordability cover the whole rent?

Thanks for the reply yes he is a very high earner.

They are a married couple so I would view their affordability jointly. If he can comfortably afford the property on his own income this shouldn’t be a problem.

Add him as a joint tenant & reference him too.
