Advice please…recovering arrears after a tenant has left. I served S21… but it still took time for him to leave. I do need to submit a trace search for his new address, I’ll have to wait a couple of months until he appears on registered records (council tax/benefits/electoral records etc.)…(I may be able to find this out through his local activity…and I dont mean stalking, just word of mouth) My question is …the best way to recover the debt…approx £8000. He has also left utility arrears…I have made the utility company aware. I provided a reading on the date the tenant moved in…and again on the date he moved out. The utility company are not pursuing me…the debt is “to the occupier”
