I’m on a periodic tenancy on a monthly basis. My landlord has just confirmed a rent increase from the beginning of this month. How much notice should they give me? Many thanks
If there is a rent review clause the LL should follow those terms. They often state that the rent will be increased on the anniversary inline with RPI. In such cases you should be given a months notice of what the new rent will be.
If there is no rent review clause in your tenancy agreement then good practice would be a discussion a couple of months before followed by a formal notice a month before.
