I’m currently in a private rented property and have been here for just over 7 years. My father in law has fallen gravelly ill and lives on the other side of the borough, a 45-50min drive away. I want to move nearer to him which would mean my kids changing schools etc. Ive been calling after a few properties but have been told the same thing by different agents, i will fail the credit check as I have 19 months left on my IVA so i will need a guarantor. There is literally no one in my family or my friends that could be my guarantor.
Could anyone tell me if theyve been in this situation and had a positive outcome? Ive even signed up for a guarantor company but all of the agents have said that 99% of landlords wont accept this. I’m desperate and at my wits end. I’m a single parent recieving benefit so there isnt an option of raising a higher deposit or 5 weeks rent in advance either.
