Hello,
My flat in London is 2,000/ month. Does the UK really offer a benefit that would allow a couple to be able to afford a 2,000 flat rental when normally they wouldn’t be able to?
I have a prospective tenant who wrote me:
“Good morning and thanks for your prompt reply. In regards of affordability, my partner works in Management in Hospitality and I’m self-employed, reason why we actually asked the support of the Housing benefit to strengthen our tenant position, I saw on your ad that “DSS are accepted” hence why. Don’t worry, we’d come fully insured as tenant, we’d take out an insurance policy that covers damages up to £10k for us and up to £5k for our dog. We can provide landlord references as well as mentioned before.”
He later wrote: “In terms of move-in date, if we proceed and commit after the viewing then it’s a matter of sending the documentation to the borough and receive confirmation for the housing application which is usually pretty efficient and speedy, on our end we’d be ready from the 30th so next week.”
Is it safe to accept a DSS tenant? Is it really something the Borough can register quickly?
