Just in case it’s relevant to anyone else, I’ve just discovered that selective licensing has been introduced (seems to be from Nov 2024) to central Stockton. There are penalties for not registering and also for registering late, although in the email exchange I’ve had with the council, there appears to be some grace for LLs who were unaware of the new rules and who apply in a timely manner once they become aware.
Costs per property are £175 to apply and then £95 per year for the initial five years of the scheme. Slight discount for registration fee for subsequent properties and I’m awaiting confirmation on any discount for membership of any associations.
I will be increasing rent to cover these costs.
