Openrent portal seeks UK address for landlord before serving Section 21 as part of the application process. I ( landlord) live in Ireland and do not have a UK residence other than that of the property that I am currently letting.
Anyone advise how to proceed with section 21?
You have to have a UK address for the service of notices by the tenant as well as giving them your actual address. I am not sure what a judge would make of a tenants use of this issue as a defence. Check with a specialist landlord and tenant solicitor.
The notice needs to be served to the address documented in your contract
If it dies not match you may invalidate your notice
If you referenced your solicitors address in the contract you could have used that
I don’t think using a P.O. Box is accepted
