SORN van on drive

I have issued a section 21 to my tenant and want to market it for sale. He has a scruffy old van with flat tyres etc which is not road worthy, full of his stuff and has a SORN certificate. It makes my house look awful in sales pictures, is there anything I can do to encourage him to move it just for pictures?

It’s going to cost him money to move it, so if it’s in your benefit, you could cover the cost of the recovery van coming to tow it away, take your photos and then bring it back.

It doesn’t make sense to market it when he is still in there, you are counting your chickens, a lot can go wrong along the way. When selling, you get an initial burst of interest, don’t kill it by using bad photos. If the van is like that the inside of the house is unlikely to be pristine.

Agree with what you say, but unfortunately time is money! I’ll just have to try and take a pic from a different angle, thanks

@Maxine9 if you take photos from different angles to exclude the offending vehicle I expect there must be an AI tool which will combine these and show the property from the view you want excluding the vehicle

A pro photographer may be worth investing in anyway, also to remove all the clutter from photos taken inside

Good luck
