Storage of non Open Rent receipts - ready for tax return

Hello

I’ve been a Landlord for 20 years and only discovered Open Rent (OR) two years ago and it’s been amazing!

The only issue I now have is I lose track of what I’ve spent on properties in terms of things I can’t get via Open Rent such as curtains, a new cooker, roof repairs etc

Is this something OR would consider and is there an App or similar that other LLs use to capture/remember their outgoings ready for their yearly tax return?

Thank you

Charlie

How can you lose track if you get a receipt?

@Charlotte66

Why re invent tools which already exist?

How about a spreadsheet or word document to record this stuff. And each time you update it upload it to the 'manage documents ’ area for the tenancy (and remove old version).

See eg

Im sure many more exist…

There are apps too which let you scan receipts as you get them eg https://www.augustapp.com/

Thank you to David for your useful response - I’ll use your recommended app!

I have a free Monzo business account. All of my property transactions go through this account. All transactions have a receipt attached. For online transactions I screenshot email receipts and for paper receipts you just take a photo using your smartphone. Monzo is not unique, many other, if not all business accounts will have a similar features to capture receipts.

Best!

I have a similar method . I collect all my receipts. Write them down in an accounts book and give it to my accountant
