We have just completed a contract signing.
Sales have slowed down at the moment. So, quite a few LL who wanted to sell, unwillingly put their place back on rental market. Looks like your LL tried to sell his house/flat unsuccessfully for a while. Didn’t work.
I think it speaks for itself. It’s really unfortunate for tenants in this situation but I also feel for the landlord.
Have you got keys and has tenancy started, if so you are contracted to continue.
