One of my current tenants has a friend who wants to move in to a room that is coming vacant. I have paid for referencing which has passed but struggling to work out how to convert this into a rent now tenancy - any pointers? Or do I go old school and do an NRLA tenancy agreement. I quite like having them all on the openrent portal!
Hi @Christian10
If you need to add or remove any tenants or guarantors from a tenancy agreement you can do so using our renewals feature.
Simply select the tenancy that you’d like to edit using the link below and click “See Renewal Options” to follow the online instructions:
You can find our step by step guide here.
Please note that, as the landlord of the property, you’ll be responsible for releasing and protecting any of the deposit as a result of the renewal. You can check which scheme your deposit is protected with in your contract, accessed on the link above. You can find further guidance on doing this in our guide, above.
If you issue one tenancy agreement to cover multiple tenants at one property, then @mod_harry comments above may well be best route.
If you issue tendencies on a per room basis. I.e. one tenancy agreement for each Tenant, then I suggest the best course of action is to create an advert, and then immediately pause it adding manually the new tenants details before proceeding to create the contract.
