I successfully served section 21. Tenant has taken initiative and found an alternative place but is looking to leave 10 days earlier than the date specified on section 21.
Just checking how to proceed and what to do to ensure all is in order?
Formal letter to tenant? Update my tenancy on openrent or update section 21?
Any advice much appreciated
The Section 21 is irrelevant to him leaving early, as that form is just a request for him to leave.
Just treat this as a tenant giving you notice to leave, and you being flexible, and allowing them to leave & hence only pay rent upto the leaving date.
Agree it all by email or writing
If you want certainty, use a deed of surrender and execute it just before he goes
