I have a tennant moving back from Australia. Have done a video viewing and seem nice enough. But if I go ahead with letting them rent the property what are the potential risks and what checks can be done? Any advice much appreciated
how long they been away? Can they give you details of a LL they let from before they left? Do they have savings/bank account here? Will they be employed here? Can they prove that?
Potential risks and checks are pretty much the same… six months bank statements, employer and LL references etc except that you may have to do a lot of the paperwork yourself as traditional referencing might draw a blank.
They’ll also possibly have no credit score or an adverse credit score in the UK so that’s a risk as you’ve got no proven track record.
No more than 6 month AST if you do go with this applicant.
