Prospective tenant saying that he lives temporarily with parents at their address but does not want to give their details as he dosent want to get then involved
Am i required to ask for their details anyway?
Is he obliged to comply with the reguest?
Advice please ?
Why do you need the details of his parents, unless they are guarantors ?
i would be wary . you have the right to check him out at his previous address
Go for someone else , sounds a bit dodgy!
Its a commonly used cover story for tenants who’ve been evicted from their last place.
Credit reference checks should verify if he was on voters roll at parents. If not, he is probably lying. If he won’t provide his address history for checks to be made, then decline.
This site is fairly specific to property transactions managed by OpenRent. A more generic site might be more suitable.
wouldn’t it be fairly simple just go to land registry and pay 3 pounds to check the title for the their “parents” address if they have the same surname etc. as he is able to provide the current address he is living in? Most likely parents own the property which you can find the title on?
Any prospective tenant who is reluctant to provide details is hiding something and should been given a wide berth
