Is a landlord's details required for a tenant to sort out a guarantor?

It has taken my potential tenant a week to provide details of their reference and guarantor and when I asked for an update, he informed me that he is trying to sort out a guarantor and needs my details to complete this. Is he a time waster, or does he actually need my details to complete the process. Thanks for your anticipated responses.

Time waster

The tenant should provide details and you contact them directly

If this ever goes ahead ( it sounds like a red flag ) make sure your guarantor signs a deed and make sure it’s witnessed by a solicitor so there’s no come back

Thank you so much A-A. I will ask ooenrent to revert their holding deposit first thing in the morning. Thanks once again

Could they be approaching one of the Guarantor companies, rather than an individual they know? That might mean they need to give that company your details. Have you asked them why?

Thank you for your response. I have acted as advised and I await the tenant’s response

I can’t see whats wrong with a guarantor wanting to know the name of the person they are dealing with…. and I don’t think one week is too long . Is it not better to have a guaranteed tenant than no tenant ?

A week is to long, equal to a weeks rent. A lot of money being time wasted, I would want to know why and if necessary find another TT, there are lots out there LL can afford to be choosy.

I would also manage the cash side myself, bird in the hand.
