Updating rent amount to achieve a passed reference check

HI I have a prospective tenant whoa has recently failed the comp reference due to affordability. I have reduced the rent to the amount which they have been guaranteed as per the report and paid for a second reference at this amount as I’m unable to edit the initial reference case. The tenants unable to complete this second reference I believe due to the 1st one being in place. Please can you help us complete this additional referencing in order to achieve a passed reference check.

Are you sure about this? Was the rent over-egged in the advert? If not, why have you reduced it?
